Install IDU+ in Safari with a userscript

Install IDU+ in Safari through a userscript manager, then refresh the IDU portal to enable the cleaner interface, themes, and layout tools.

Installation steps

1

Install and open Userscripts

Install Userscripts from the App Store, then open the app once. It should create and select its local scripts folder at Files → On My iPhone → Userscripts. If the app asks for a scripts directory, select that folder.

Open Userscripts on the App Store
2

Set the Safari download folder

Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads → Other. Choose On My iPhone → Userscripts, then confirm the folder. This makes Safari save the IDU+ file straight into the folder watched by Userscripts. On older iOS versions, Safari may be listed directly in Settings.

3

Enable the Safari extension

Go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → Userscripts and turn on Allow Extension. If you use Safari profiles, also enable Userscripts for the profile used with IDU.

4

Download the IDU+ file

Return to this page in Safari and tap the button below. Confirm the download when Safari asks. The file is named idu-plus.user.js and should be saved directly in On My iPhone → Userscripts, rather than displayed as a page.

Download IDU+ userscript
5

Check the file in Files

Open Files → Browse → On My iPhone → Userscripts. Confirm that idu-plus.user.js is there and that its name still ends in .user.js. Do not rename it to .txt or move it out of this folder.

6

Activate Userscripts on IDU

Open your IDU portal in Safari. Tap the Page Menu button beside the address bar, choose Manage Extensions, and enable Userscripts. Open the Userscripts panel once so it refreshes the folder, then confirm that IDU+ is enabled. Grant website access when Safari asks.

7

Reload the IDU portal

Refresh the IDU page. IDU+ should now apply its interface. The script itself is restricted to addresses matching https://*.idu.edu.pl/*, so it will not run on unrelated websites.

After installation

Customize IDU+ appearance

Open the built-in Appearance panel

Open any IDU portal page and scroll to the bottom. Expand IDU+ Appearance. The userscript adds this panel directly to IDU, so you do not need to edit the .user.js file.

Theme

Switch between Light and Dark mode for the entire portal.

Layout

Portal keeps the classic IDU+ flow. Sidebar creates a modern app shell with collapsible navigation.

Title Font

Choose Aligra, Inter, Audex, or Otfits for headings across IDU+.

Accent

Choose IDU blue, Sea teal, Soft violet, Rose, Amber, or Moss—or enter a custom hex color.

Topbar

Choose IDU navy, Graphite, Steel blue, Deep green, Aubergine, Walnut, or a custom hex value.

Changes apply immediately and are saved in Safari for future IDU visits. Use Reset to restore Light, Portal, Aligra, IDU blue, and IDU navy.
