Install IDU+ in Safari through a userscript manager, then refresh the IDU portal to enable the cleaner interface, themes, and layout tools.

Installation steps

Install the Userscripts app

First, install Userscripts from the App Store. This app is required to load the IDU+ script in Safari.

Open Userscripts on the App Store

Open Userscripts once

Launch the Userscripts app before downloading IDU+. Opening it once creates and selects the folder that the app watches for scripts. On iPhone or iPad, you should then see Files → Browse → On My iPhone → Userscripts. If the app asks you to choose a scripts directory, select that folder.

Download the IDU+ script

Return to this page in Safari and download idu-plus.user.js. Keep the .user.js ending; the file must not be renamed to .txt.

Place the file in the Userscripts folder

The downloaded idu-plus.user.js file must be inside On My iPhone → Userscripts. If Safari saved it in Downloads, open Files and move it into the Userscripts folder. You can also set Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads → Other → On My iPhone → Userscripts before downloading so Safari saves it there directly.

Enable Userscripts and approve both permissions

Now open Safari and visit your IDU portal. Tap the Page Menu button beside the address bar, open Manage Extensions, and switch on Userscripts. Safari can show two separate Userscripts permission requests: one to enable the extension and one to access the current IDU website. Approve both requests. If you use Safari profiles, enable Userscripts for the profile used with IDU as well.

Enable IDU+ in Userscripts

Open the Userscripts panel from Safari once so it refreshes its scripts folder. Confirm that IDU+ appears in the list and is switched on.

Reload the IDU portal

Refresh the IDU page. IDU+ should now apply its interface. The script itself is restricted to addresses matching https://*.idu.edu.pl/*, so it will not run on unrelated websites.

Verify it worked

The IDU portal has rounded glassy cards.
The IDU+ userscript is active on the portal domain.
Your selected theme persists after refresh.

After the download

If you changed Safari's download location, you can set it back to Downloads after installing IDU+. Keep idu-plus.user.js inside the Userscripts folder.

Troubleshooting

If the Userscripts folder is missing, open the Userscripts app and select a local scripts directory first.
If Safari saved the file elsewhere, move it in Files to On My iPhone → Userscripts.
If IDU+ is not listed, open the Userscripts panel once and let it refresh the folder.
Confirm both Safari permission requests were approved, then check that the Userscripts extension and IDU+ script are enabled.

After installation

Customize IDU+ appearance

Open the built-in Appearance panel

Open any IDU portal page and scroll to the bottom. Expand IDU+ Appearance. The userscript adds this panel directly to IDU, so you do not need to edit the .user.js file.

Theme

Switch between Light and Dark mode for the entire portal.

Layout

Portal keeps the classic IDU+ flow. Sidebar creates a modern app shell with collapsible navigation.

Title Font

Choose Aligra, Inter, Audex, or Otfits for headings across IDU+.

Accent

Choose IDU blue, Sea teal, Soft violet, Rose, Amber, or Moss—or enter a custom hex color.

Topbar

Choose IDU navy, Graphite, Steel blue, Deep green, Aubergine, Walnut, or a custom hex value.

Changes apply immediately and are saved in Safari for future IDU visits. Use Reset to restore Light, Portal, Aligra, IDU blue, and IDU navy.
